Located in the beautiful Chattahoochee National Forest, and just minutes from the Appalachian Trail, cascading waterfalls, and numerous other recreational opportunities, Wahsega 4-H Center serves as an educational facility for K-12 students immersed in one to three-day field studies. Environmental Education classes and activities include stream ecology, forest ecology, entomology, herpetology, pioneer life, survival skills, the challenge course and high ropes (zip line and climbing wall), with many other options. What You Can Do |
Environmental Educators will provide hands-on learning in real world environments and teach classes in earth and life science, survival skills, team building, high & low ropes challenges and pioneer living skills. Other duties include care of captive wildlife in the herpetology lab, curriculum development, assisting in cleanup of facilities at the end of each session, and 2-3 hours of KP (Kitchen Patrol) each week. Positions are offered during the spring (mid-February through late May) and the fall (early September to early November). |
